Music Teachers at the Searcy Community School of Music
Developing Life-Long Skills in Making and Appreciating Music

  Our Teachers

We have three categories of teachers, offering different levels of experience and expertise, in order to provide lessons at various price levels while still meeting the instructional needs of the student.

Level 1 Instructors

Level I Instructors are students, typically college music education majors, who teach under indirect supervision from a music faculty member. These instructors are carefully selected and approved based on our personal knowledge of their capability.

Level 2 Instructors

Level II Instructors are qualified adults with several years of teaching and/or performing experience.

Our Level II instructors are Jesse Cox, Jamie Goslin, Jenny Henderson, Anthony Lytle, and Colleen O’Connell.

Jenny Henderson has been teaching music in the White County area since 1984. Ms. Henderson holds a BA in Elementary Education from Harding University, an MEd in Secondary Education from Harding University and is pursuing doctoral music education studies at the University of Buffalo, NY. Ms. Henderson has studied under internationally known instructors such as Dr. Lorna Heyge (Kindermusik, Musikgarten), Audrey Sillick (Child Development), Dr. Edwin Gordon (Music Education and Research) and Dr. James Jordan (Senior Choir Conductor, Westminster Choir College).
